Synchronicity and Madeleine

It is entirely possible that behind the perception of our senses, worlds are hidden of which we are unaware (Albert Einstein)
All my life I have experienced the strange and wonderful beauty of synchronicity. Like many others who are awake and paying attention I have had prophetic dreams, answered prayers, a lucky break, an odd chain of events that leads to the fulfilment of a long cherished dream or to finding my soul mate. I also have my ‘Library Angel’
The first to identify the wonderful Library Angel phenomenon was Arthur Koestler. He noticed that when he was seeking answers to a meaningful or urgent question, the right book, the right magazine or research material would literally fall into his lap, fall at his feet or turn up in unexpected places giving him the answer he had been looking for, or a clue to the answer.
One example of the Library Angel in action comes from writer Bill Bryson:
In Notes From a Small Island, travel writer Bill Bryson tells of his own encounter with the Library Angel, after pitching a story to a travel magazine on, of all things, extraordinary coincidences.
“When I came to write the article,” Bryson writes, “I realized that, although I had plenty of information about scientific studies into the probability of coincidence, I didn’t have nearly enough examples of remarkable coincidences themselves…” After writing a letter to the magazine saying he wouldn’t be able to deliver, Bryson “left the letter on top of his typewriter to post the next day,” and drove off to his job at The Times of London. Here he saw a notice on the door of an elevator, altering staff to the literary editor’s annual sale of review copies sent to The Times. “The place was full of mingling people. I stepped into the melee and what should be the very first book my eyes fell on but a paperback called Remarkable True Coincidences. How’s that for a remarkable true coincidence? But here’s the uncanny thing. I opened it up and found that the very first coincidence it discussed concerned a man named Bryson.”
For me, this aspect of synchronicity acts like a google search; we put a question into a cosmic search engine and then the universe throws the answer at us in such a dramatically odd way that we can’t fail to go ‘WOW!’ We then can’t help but think we live in a friendly, cooperative, listening universe that finds ways to answer our needs and show that we are more than consuming robots; alone and finite.
Well the universe has been listening to and answering me this last week or so: As you can perhaps tell from my blog, I have been following the case of missing Madeline Mccann since day one, for reasons I am still trying to fathom. All my instincts tell me (or rather scream at me) that she is alive, but there are days when doubts nag at me and leave me feeling a little down.
One such day was Sunday 11th November. I was on my hypnotherapy course and the director of the course was giving a demonstration. He was interrupted by someone urgently and persisitently ringing the doorbell, despite the fact that there were three open entrances to the center. He eventually gave up the demonstration and answered the door, apologising to us saying that it was his daughter who had come home unexpectedly from London. After lunch he explained that he and his daughter, Madeleine, were going to the cinema that evening to watch the film Stardust. I hadn’t heard of the film.
November 16th, I felt really down, really depressed about Madeleine. After turning on my PC I went, as usual, to Jonathan Cainer’s astrology site and read his thought for the day:
Wish upon a shooting star
Spaceship Earth is now passing though a belt of dust and debris. As this burns up in our atmosphere, sparks fly across the sky. The cause is a comet. Not “Holmes”, in Perseus, that can still be seen in the North east but another regular visitor called ‘Tempel Tuttle’. We are travelling through the remains of its tail, despite the fact that it is not around right now. Comets create many celestial surprises yet scientists know little about them. Mystics though, have long been sure that to see a comet or shooting star is to be offered a wonderful wish.
I knew what my wish would be, but still felt unable to shift the black cloud that seemed determined to follow me around. So I did what I always do when I get near rock bottom, I asked the universe for a sign that Madeleine was alive. An hour later I walked into the Kitchen. Normally, when working in the kitchen I have my radio on, tuned to Talk Sport (no music, just talk) but my husband had bought me a docking cube for my Ipod that also has an FM radio, but on which I can’t get Talk Sport (AM)…so I just put the radio on to a random station. The words of the first song that came on amazed me, having read Jonathan’s page about wishing on stars, my obsession with Comet Holmes in connection to Madeleine and my asking for a sign:
All the stars are coming out tonight
They’re lighting up the sky tonight
For you, for you
All the stars are coming out tonight
They’re lighting up the sky tonight
For you, for you
I stood there transfixed, listening. I had never heard this song by Take That before (being in Thailand I missed their comeback) To me it wasa sign.. I felt it and the black cloud dissipated. I was so excited by my ‘message’ I posted it on the ForMadeleine forum.
Then yesterday, I turned on my PC and read Jonathan’s thought for the day:
Sharing the Same Vision
Dear Jonathan,
On Sunday I woke with two female names in my head. One was Nagulu or Namulu. Roberta
Dear Jonathan,
My two-year-old daughter recently talked about two babies coming to visit. I did not recognise the names. Kathryn
Dear Jonathan,
I dreamed two goldfish were flying over my house. Mags
Dear Everyone,
I think our world needs a ‘consciousness monitoring facility’. Hundreds of artists could be having the same vision. Thousands of children could be seizing on the same idea. Millions of us could be having the same dream each night. How would we ever know?
Jonathan
Lost in thought about this sharing of the same vision concept, I clicked on another favourite site; Kathryn Cassidy’s Collaborate With Fate blog, and nearly fell off my chair, (Kathryn has kindly allowed me to reproduce some of her post):
‘Whilst marvelling at this latest incredible image of Comet Holmes, I was alerted to some intriguing synchronicity. Filling the room around me was a piece of music emanating from my favourite radio station – Magic FM. The piece I was hearing contained a continual reprise of the lyrics….
All the stars are coming out tonight
They’re lighting up the sky tonight
For you, for you
Now quite obviously, when the UK band Take That first recorded these lyrics (which are part of the sound track to the aptly named film Stardust), they had no idea the song’s release on 22 October 2007 would coincide with one of the most spectacular sky/star events in living memory. In retrospect though it does seem to have been a marvellously serendipitous omen!’
….One final correlation that I leave you with from the popular context is this….. On the night that the Comet appeared Kate and Gerry McCann were recording an interview which ‘brought to light’ a hitherto unrevealed image of the person Jane Tanner says she saw at the time of Madeleine McCann’s abduction. This only held any significance for me when I heard that the Comet had appeared at around 6 degrees of Gemini, for this is exactly where the Asteroid Madeline (correct spelling of asteroid) was on 3rd May 2007, when Maddie disappeared.
The appearance of Comet Holmes could be seen to have coincided with an explosion of disbelief in the McCann’s story, as 70% of the viewers watching that interview felt the parents were hiding something. However the revelation of the new drawing also reignited the abduction-by- a- stranger theory and renewed possible sightings of the little girl. It may therefore be of some synchronistic relevance that the Comet is now heading towards the Sun sign of Madeleine, i.e. Taurus, and astronomers think that a second explosion of the Comet sometime between now and January is a possibility. Whether this coincides with further illumination, or news of what happened, remains to be seen.
I offer this only as an example of how the heavens often mirror a turn of events on Earth and not as any particular further personal comment on the McCann case.

How’s that for a sign! My little sign in the kitchen was enough to give me the Wow Factor….that it was echoed and expanded upon a couple of days later by Kathryn is to me, confirmation with bells on, and left me smiling all day.
Plus, it only dawned on me last night that my hypnotherapy course director and his daughter MADELEINE were going to see the film STARDUST in which the TAKE THAT song is a soundtrack!
That’s what I mean about the beauty of synchronicity
Update:
Sandy, from the ForMadeleine forum spotted this intriguing cloud today whilst outside with her own little girl, in Co. Cavan, Ireland.
Blue sky is a rare sight these days in the British Isles, but she was quick enough to spot and photograph this cloud, that resembles Madeleine’s eye, before it quickly dissipated.
(Thanks for sharing Sandy)

Update:
It has emerged that the woman who owns the holiday apartment from which Madeleine disappeared is also called McCann — and lives less than a mile from where Kate McCann grew up.
But the owner, Ruth McCann, has no family connection with Madeleine.
A Portuguese police source said: “It is a pure coincidence”. Ruth McCann, 53, lives minutes from Mossley Hill, Liverpool, where Kate’s parents, Brian and Susan Healy, still live.
She said today: “I will not speak to the press, not now, not ever.”
The Ocean Club Resort is run by holiday company Mark Warner, but it is understood the company acts as an agent for owners of the apartments.

This wonderful article has sent shivers down my spine.
May Madeleine come home … and soon.
